Sarfaraz has been volunteering for two and a half years for FareShare South West. He comes in twice a week and works with our warehouse team, picking and packing orders ready to go out to schools, charities and community groups across the South West. Sarfaraz first joined FSSW because he wanted to give something back to his community.

Today, he is order picking for The Wild Goose Cafe in Easton, Bristol. They provide freshly cooked meals for homeless people in the community almost every day. Sarfaraz and the warehouse team check the order sheet and pick the items from our stores and fridges to assemble their order, then load them up into the van for delivery. Other charity members choose to collect their order straight from the warehouse, so Sarfaraz is also on hand to welcome visitors in and process their collection. “My responsibilities change depending on the day. My job is to represent FareShare each day. I love meeting people from so many different backgrounds, and so many different charities.”

At FareShare South West there is an encouraging atmosphere which is welcoming and accommodating to people of any background. There are people who have no work experience who can learn all sorts of skills in a safe space. Sarfaraz, Warehouse Volunteer
