10 years’ volunteering for FareShare South West- Trevor Service retires

Trevor Service, our longest serving volunteer, is retiring after an incredible 10 years’ service at FareShare South West. He has been with us since the beginning, when FSSW was established in 2007. As we celebrate our 10 year anniversary this year we want to celebrate Trevor’s amazing achievement and commitment to our mission to reduce food poverty and food waste. It’s all in the name- his service to us has been invaluable.

Trevor has been a reliable driver for one of our delivery routes to Weston Super Mare for over 5 years. Along with fellow volunteer Viv, he has been the face of FSSW for many Weston charity members as the main delivery volunteer, providing excellent customer service and building strong relationships through his regular work. “It’s a testament to how it is, volunteering here. I’ve made some great friends who I’ll be sorry to leave.”

“I have enjoyed my time with the charity and have gained probably more than I have given. Apart from my career job, I have been at FareShare South West longer than anywhere else I have worked and will leave with pleasant memories of my time here.”

Everyone here is so grateful for his diligence and hard work over such a long time. We have sent him off in style with celebrations of his time here at the FSSW warehouse over the last week, and of course plenty of cake!

Trevor is planning on taking a well-earned break- though we hope he will pop in to say hello from time to time.
