In 2020-21, we scaled up our operations by six times to deliver emergency food across the region.

Starting our first emergency operation in March 2020, we have delivered over 12 months of incredible impact, responding to the changing food needs of our region. We have worked with some incredible partners, volunteers and people in Bristol and beyond, as well as some inspirational frontline charities. Over winter 2020, we delivered our biggest operation yet- FoodStock 2020. This acted as a vital food safety net for our region and delivered food for over 3.5 million meals. We also expanded our geographical reach, delivering food for 1.9 million meals into Devon and Cornwall for the first time.

Our 2020-21 impact report unpacks this extraordinary year, during which 2,598 tonnes of food was distributed to frontline charities.

Food poverty rates are soaring due to the effects of Covid. Thousands of families, children, elderly and vulnerable people face food insecurity as a daily reality. While there are thousands of tonnes of surplus food in the food system, we believe this is far from acceptable. Thanks to the incredible efforts by our member charities, many families have had access to food parcels and food provision. Hundreds of volunteers across the South West gave their time to distribute food to their communities. Our volunteers alone gave over 29,400 hours of their time to get food to those in need.
