Why support FareShare South West? Because together, we can be part of better.

FareShare South West means that we’re able to offer a free breakfast to more pupils. Our food pantry allows Brentry families to come and help themselves to food supplies up to four times a week from the school foyer. It’s open to everyone and there’s no stigma attached to it. The older pupils that walk themselves to school can also take food home to their families.

What sings out from these pages is the power of food. Inside this report for 2023 to 2024, you’ll discover:

  • How two small cafés are creating meaningful opportunities for people with learning disabilities
  • The progress of our Vale Lane warehouse and its inspiring employability programme, FareChance
  • What’s on the horizon for FareShare South West – and how you can be part of better

Did you know?

Together, our volunteers, fundraisers, donors, food suppliers and member charities made this possible last year:

  • 1,738 tonnes of good-quality food was saved from the bin
  • reaching 46,000 people of all ages and backgrounds, through 385 different charities, schools and community hubs
  • 4.14 million meals worth of food delivered to communities hit hardest by the cost of living crisis

Our impact over the years

FareShare is the only charity to take food from the wholesale level of the food industry

The vast majority of surplus occurs before food even gets to the supermarket. Each member of the FareShare network rescues that food and delivers it to those in need. FareShare Go is our supermarket collection service, which deals with supermarket-level surplus.
