FoodStock is FareShare South West’s emergency response to the winter food crisis.
This winter, 1 million people in the south west will be going hungry – while tonnes of surplus good food goes to waste. High food prices, heating bills and weeks without free school meals mean that for many, the nightmare before Christmas is becoming a reality.
We believe food – especially at Christmas – does so much more than fill an empty stomach.
Food brings people together. It creates community, a sense of belonging, of connection and warmth.
Can you help bring less waste and more joy to local people this Christmas?
We’re aiming to raise £80,000 with the help of The Big Give Christmas Challenge. Any gift for FoodStock given to our page during Christmas Challenge week will be doubled by our generous match funders! Match funding starts 28th November and lasts only one week. Please help us spread the word!

“I joined the food co-op because I wanted to make some friends and save some money on food. I’ve gone on to do cookery classes, I’ve completed my food hygiene level two.
“You will never know the difference it’s made and the confidence it’s given me.”
– Nina, member of a food co-operative
Your gift will reach people like Nina with food – and so much more.
This winter we’re working with food producers, growers and suppliers to stop fresh, festive and nutritious food from going to waste, and delivering it to community groups and organisations working on the front line.
We’ve opened our emergency warehouse, supported by extra volunteers who will help us pack and deliver emergency winter supplies. Your donation will help keep our vital winter operation moving.
