South West food charity leader recognised as a finalist at the West Country Women Awards.

We’re excited to share that Shelley Wright, the dynamic powerhouse leading our operations in Devon and Cornwall, was named a finalist for the Phoenix Award at the West Country Women Awards last month.

This prestigious award celebrates individuals who demonstrate resilience and dedication to improving lives, communities and the economy. Shelley’s remarkable work launching and growing FareShare South West’s operations in Plymouth over the past two years embodies these qualities perfectly.

From building a robust food redistribution network that supports countless people across the south west, to forging partnerships that benefits individuals and local communities, Shelley’s impact has been nothing short of transformational.

As Shelley steps into her new role as Director of Partnerships and Business Development, this recognition as a finalist is a testament to her exceptional ability to bring people together and drive positive change.

Lucy Bearn, CEO of FareShare South West, said:

“We couldn’t be prouder of Shelley. Being named named a finalist is a reflection of not only her hard work and dedication, but also her passion for making a real difference. Shelley’s leadership has been key in driving our mission forward in Devon and Cornwall, and this award highlights the incredible impact she has had on both our work and the communities we support.”

Shelley Wright shares:

It’s an honour to be recognised among so many inspiring women. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without the amazing team and community behind our work in Devon and Cornwall. Together, we’ve shown what resilience and collaboration can achieve.”
