WE WON!! FareShare South West wins Best Initiative at Crumbs Awards

We are absolutely delighted to announce that we are now an award-winning charity, having won Best Initiative at the Crumbs Awards. The annual awards ceremony celebrates the best of the South West’s food scene, from restaurants to chefs and more.

We were up against some very worthy contenders, including Boston Tea Party, Incredible Edible The School of Food, and one of our own charity members, the fantastic JumpStart fitness. Hearing our name come out was a big surprise and a welcome one for us,

Our trophy is proudly in our entrance space, and our team have been celebrating since and spreading the word.

Here’s what the judges said:

“FareShare is having a staggering impact, spearheading the way to tackle food waste and food poverty. We’re impressed at how it’s constantly innovating”

Phoebe, Zoe and Lucy from our office team went to represent FareShare South West. All very proud to be part of our charity and celebrate with the food community!

It feels great to be recognised by the foodie world in our city. People are increasingly becoming aware of the issue of food waste, but food poverty remains an often hidden problem. Winning an award like this means a chance for our charity to spread the word about the vital importance of food provision to the most vulnerable in our community.”

We’re now looking ahead to our Big Breakfast Week, when we’ll be joining the dots between Bristol’s food scene and its food poverty. Chefs from across the city are backing our food provision in Bristol schools with a range of events and workshops, and we can’t wait to spread the word far and wide about what we do!
