FoodStock 2020

Help build a safety net to prevent hunger this winter

FoodStock 2020 is our campaign to build a stockpile of emergency food and the infrastructure to deliver it over a difficult winter.

As Covid-19 resurges across the nation and the likelihood of another lockdown increases, FareShare South West is building a stockpile of food and an action plan to deliver it to the most critically vulnerable in the South West. Between November 2020 and February 2021, we aim to redistribute food for over 1 million meals.

Back in March, we didn't have time to plan. This time, we do.

We intend this food to help bridge the food gap caused by this crisis, acting as the emergency, low-cost food supplier to hundreds of frontline organisations- from food banks to schools to homeless charities. We want to be primed and ready to launch food delivery into key pop-up food parcel operations as well as plugging food gaps in existing operations. We know we are only one part of the solution, but with support we know we can bolster our city and region.

To deliver FoodStock 2020 effectively within our capacity, we must be strategic, coordinated and targeted. We need Bristol to wrap its arms around our operation and support us. We need volunteers at our FoodStock 2020 warehouse in South Bristol, resources, engagement and donations.

Your donations will help us deliver food for the most vulnerable this winter.

Your donations make a real difference. They will go directly to covering our costs in getting food to those in need this winter- from van hire and fuel costs, to food sourcing, logistics and food parcel boxes, your donation can make this operation possible.

Each pound raised is enough for four meals for someone in need:

  • £5 covers our costs in making a family’s food parcel
  • £10 could provide food for 40 meals for someone in need this winter
  • £25 could cover our costs in delivering food for 100 children’s meals

Between March-August, support for our Coronavirus Emergency Appeal enabled us to deliver food for over 2 million meals- read our impact report here.
