Drive Out Hunger

This Summer, can you and your team help Drive Out Hunger?

This Summer, we’re calling on Bristol businesses to help us Drive Out Hunger. As the region’s biggest food charity, we’re on a mission to find volunteer van drivers who can help collect and deliver good quality surplus food to charities, schools and community groups in Bristol, Bath and beyond. And we need YOU to help spread the word.

If you and your colleagues can spare half a day over the Summer holidays to help deliver flyers, put up posters and share our campaign, get in touch! Email volunteer@faresharesouthwest.org.uk to register your interest.

FareShare South West joins the dots between surplus food and hunger. Last year, our van crews helped redistribute 2041 tonnes of good quality surplus food – enough for 4,860, 844 meals – to more than 400 different frontline charities.

Right now, the need has never been greater. The UK produces more than 3 million tonnes of surplus food each year* but last month, a million adults across the UK reported going without meals for a full day because they couldn’t afford to buy food.**

To meet this need, we’re expanding our operations this Summer and launching new van routes across the region.

Now, we need YOU and your team to spread the word and help us find more regular volunteer drivers to get food to where it’s needed most. Help spread the word! Email volunteer@faresharesouthwest.org.uk or call 0117 954 2220 to register your interest. Thank you!

Over 3 million tonnes of the food that goes to waste each year is still edible

That’s enough for seven billion meals
