Wriggle Donation Point funds over 7,000 meals over Christmas break

In December, Bristol foodie platform Wriggle launched a donation point on their site and app to raise funds to support our work over the festive season.

The response was incredible, with hundreds of people choosing to donate to feed people in need. The fundraiser ran throughout the month of December, and the platform made it easy for customers to donate at the click of a button with a suggested amount of £5- enough for us to provide 20 meals to people in need.

Wriggle founder Rob Hall said “We’re super happy to have helped FareShare raise £1,765 – and very grateful to 353 of our Wriggle customers for making the donations over Christmas.
We love supporting local charities – and FareShare South West’s work in reducing food poverty, as well as food waste, is close to our hearts. We’re very proud that 7,000 people will receive a meal as a result”

Rob and his team came to visit the warehouse to see what we do first hand and find out how the donations will be used. We’re looking forward to seeing more of the Wriggle team, with a volunteering day planned at our warehouse next month. It’s great to have the support of a fellow food organisation in Bristol- feeding even more mouths!

Over 3 million tonnes of the food that goes to waste each year is still edible

That’s enough for seven billion meals
