FareShare South West to hold surplus feast as part of Bristol Food Connections Festival

On June 14th, FareShare South West will be teaming up with our friends and FSSW members Cafe Des Amis to hold a surplus community feast!

The event will take place as part of Bristol Food Connections week which runs from 11th- 17th June 2018. The festival is a week-long celebration of food across the Bristol community, bringing people together and shining a light on the work Bristol organisations do with food.

We are inviting you all to come to Easton Community Centre where the Cafe Des Amis chefs will be cooking up a storm, using only top quality, in-date surplus food that would have otherwise gone to waste. All of this food is just a flavour of the 300 tonnes of perfectly edible surplus food that we redistribute each year to community cafes, charities and schools- food that is classed as surplus before it even gets to the supermarket.

This year we are celebrating 10 years of FSSW’s work, and want to use the occasion to tell you about our work, and how you can join the food fight!

We want to fill our tables with members of the community, young and old for a memorable night of delicious food, discussions and activities to get us all thinking about food waste and hunger. We’ll have live musicians and the cafe bar will be open selling ales and wines- a night to remember! Tickets are £15, or £10 for under 12s, and proceeds from the evening will go to FareShare South West to help us continue the work we do.

We want to say a big thank you to the team at Cafe Des Amis for making this happen through their generosity and support.
